The SANDU SHUI AUTONOMOUS COUNTY NATIONAL SECONDARY VOVATIONAL SCHOOLS is the only secondary vocational school in Sandu County that integrates secondary vocational education, higher adult education, and migrant worker skills training services. The school originated from the Guizhou Provincial Sandu Papermaking Science Junior Practical Vocational School established in 1942. In 1999, it merged with the medical school, agricultural broadcasting school, vocational school, labor employment training center, and agricultural training center to form the Ethnic Vocational Education Center of Sandu County. In 2012, it was renamed the SANDU SHUI AUTONOMOUS COUNTY NATIONAL SECONDARY VOVATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOLS. In 2014, it was renamed the SANDU SHUI AUTONOMOUS COUNTY NATIONAL SECONDARY VOVATIONAL SCHOOLS, and in November 2015, it was relocated to its current campus in the HouChang New Area. The school covers an area of 270 acres, with a total building area of over 100,000 square meters and a green area of 36 acres. In January 2019, it was awarded the title of Provincial Demonstration Secondary Vocational School, and in March 2019, it was listed by the Provincial Education Department as one of the first batch of "Secondary Vocational School Strengthening Foundation Project" construction schools. In 2020, it was approved for several provincial-level projects such as QianJiang Craft Workshop (Ethnic Clothing and Accessories), Characteristic Key Specialty (Chinese Cuisine Cooking), High-level Industry-Education Integration Training Base (Automobile Application and Maintenance), and Quality Course Construction under the XingQian FuMin Action Plan of the Provincial Education Department. In 2021, it was awarded the title of Provincial Quality School by the Provincial Education Department. Since 2022, the school has successfully applied for 10 design patents for Horse-Tail Embroidery products, further promoting the inheritance and development of traditional culture. It has also successfully applied and been approved for five "Skills Guizhou" projects, including the Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture Inheritance Base Project, One County One Industry Quality Specialty Project (Chinese Cuisine Cooking), Provincial Demonstration Talent Training Program Project (Automobile Application and Maintenance), New-Type Professional Farmer Training Center Project, and East-West Cooperation Demonstration School Project. Its number of approved projects ranks first among all secondary vocational schools in the province. In 2023, it was awarded the title of the only Secondary Vocational School for Rural Revitalization in the province by the Provincial Education Department.
